Breaking news: PSG’s Qatar Sports Investments consider buying Liverpool, Manchester United or Tottenham
When it was announced late last year that FSG were putting Liverpool up for sale in whole or in part, the internet was buzzing with speculation and rumors as to who could buy the club.
A report released today by Bloomberg News, a trusted and credible news source, suggests Qatar Sports Investors are considering Liverpool alongside Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
It is widely recognized that QSI is owned by the Government of Qatar under a department of its Ministry of Finance.

Qatar spent $200 million on a much-celebrated World Cup tournament. FIFA reports a profit of over 7 billion euros. It’s easy to see Qatar’s eagerness to keep investing in the football company.
Bloomberg said the source was “a person with knowledge of the meeting … who asked not to be named because the discussions are private.” So it is not clear how credible the report is.

All three said clubs declined to comment, which in itself is revealing. If a report is definitely not true, clubs will usually be quick to say so.
While most supporters would agree that FSG laid the foundations for the club’s success, they also recognize that FSG can no longer compete financially with the other state clubs such as Manchester City and Newcastle.
Liverpool’s form this season could suggest a cash injection would make sense. The Reds play Brighton in the first of a difficult series of Premier League games this weekend.
