Richarlison has now scored 16 goals in 37 games for Brazil

Tottenham striker Richarlison scored a brace in the first half as Brazil took on Ghana in a friendly.

The 25-year-old combined twice with Neymar, sweeping from the edge of the box to the bottom corner before scoring a free-kick.

The former Everton striker led the line with Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli, who were not in the squad.

Paris St-Germain centre-back Marquinhos had given Brazil the lead by nodding home a corner from Raphinha in the ninth minute.

There were also starts for Liverpool goalkeeper Allison, Chelsea defender Thiago Silva and Manchester United’s Casemiro, while Liverpool’s Fabinho came on as a substitute.

Tite’s side meet Tunisia on Tuesday as they prepare for the World Cup in November and December in Qatar, where they face Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon in their group to win the sixth title that extends the record.

Elsewhere, Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah scored twice, including a penalty, as Egypt, who had not qualified for the World Cup, beat Niger 3-0.
