Thompson scored once in 17 games for Gillingham last season
Peterborough United have signed free agent Ben Thompson on a two-year deal.
Thompson, 26, last played for Gillingham after joining the League One club in January until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The midfielder previously made 174 appearances for Millwall between 2014 and 2022, having progressed through Lions academy.
Thompson’s two-year deal with League One Posh includes an option for an additional year.
“Ben is a player we have long admired,” said Peterborough coach Grant McCann.
“He can play as a number eight or as a number ten and is everything we love in a midfielder. He’s aggressive in everything he does, he plays with his front foot and has a great ability to push people with the ball.”
