Getting to the tee is always a big task. There’s a lot to think about. Power, contact, whether to hit the slow group in front of you. But now you apparently have to worry about giant snakes too? This is really the final straw that breaks the camel’s back.
Elitha Peachey – a self-proclaimed golfer, spontaneous soul and animal lover – recently had a very special encounter at the Atlantic Beach Golf Club in Cape Town, South Africa. She may be an “animal lover,” but that seems to be too much for anyone.
This fearsome snake is technically a Koperkapel, also known as a Cape Cobra. They are highly toxic, known for their rich yellow color, and should NOT be near a golf course. It is one of the most dangerous snakes in all of Africa and when injected with venom it causes paralysis of the human body, possibly leading to respiratory failure.
The mongoose in the background in the video is a predator of this tee snake and we are definitely on the lookout for the carnivorous mammal in these extreme circumstances. An angry cobra is certainly not what we want to see on the course.
