Alex Morris has previously told the ` he wanted his time as manager to be “a catalyst for something positive”.
Crewe Alexandra has appointed Alex Morris as manager on a permanent basis.
Morris, 38, has gained four points from three games since taking charge at Gresty Road earlier this month.
The former Crewe Academy player has never played a first-team game but has worked his way up as coach of Alex’s under-18 and under-23 side.
Lee Bell, who played for the club between 2010 and 2012 and also coached the two youth teams, remains his assistant.
“Alex and Lee are ideal choices for our club and I am delighted that they have agreed to lead the first team,” said Charles Grant, Crewe chairman.
“Together they have well over 50 years of experience in the game and know exactly what it takes to make Crewe Alexandra a success.
“The board and management team will work hard to make next season a positive one for our fans.”
Crewe sit bottom in League One by a game to play, having won just seven league games all season while conceding 81 goals.
