As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Tourism and Sport Minister Nikolina Brnjac has stated that investments in Croatian sport infrastructure remain a “particular focus of the Croatian government, as adequate sport infrastructure is an important prerequisite to make sport equally accessible in all parts of Croatia.” . for everyone from recreational players to elite athletes.”
Brnjac added that this is the reason why the amount for this tender is increasing every year and that she is glad that there are some really excellent infrastructure projects in Croatia across the country for facilities covering all sports, from open training pitches to soccer and tennis courts to soccer and tennis courts. to gyms and more.
“Since 2018 we have co-financed the renovation or construction of more than 250 sports facilities worth more than fourteen million euros and we will continue to make these investments,” explained Brnjac.
Besides the implementation of this special tender, another step forward for investments in Croatian sports infrastructure has also been made with the new Sports Law, which provides that the government can declare certain sports buildings as buildings of national interest. At the beginning of June this year, the Croatian government, at the suggestion of umbrella sports associations, made the decision to build the first building of this type. The government then declared the city stadiums in Zagreb and Split, Maksimir and Poljud as sports buildings of national interest and earmarked 27 million euros for their renovation in the coming period.
