What Companies Need for Successful Debuts in 2023 – Cheddar TV

In an interview with Cheddar TV Kristen Scholer, IPO Edge editor-in-chief John Jannarone explains that many companies are poised to go public in 2023, but a number of stars need to align for successful deals. Many companies like fintech unicorn Stripe may need to complete deals at far lower valuations than recent private rounds, which may leave some waiting for better terms. Hot startups looking for new listings may also need to reduce headcount and other recurring costs to demonstrate how serious they are about profitability. Another factor to watch is the performance of recent IPOs, many of which continue to be bombed. Any sustained recovery could attract more companies to public markets in 2023.

For insight into the latter question, IPO Edge will attend 2023 ICR Conference for the week of January 9th and interview over 30 companies, including many recently newly listed companies such as PLBY Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLBY), Swiss footwear and apparel manufacturer On Holding AG (NYSE: ONON), based in Chicago based local Portillo’s Inc. (Nasdaq: PTLO), coffee chain Dutch Bros Inc. (NYSE: BROS) and leading bowling center operator Bowlero Corp. (NYSE:BOWL). Full interviews will be available on IPO-Edge.com and investors can also subscribe to a newsletter for updates on the homepage.
