US stocks appear to be recovering from inflation

Salesforce (CRM) shares rose more than 2% on Wednesday after the company launched a new AI-focused product on Slack.

Dan Howley of Yahoo Finance reports:

Slack, the popular workplace messaging app, has officially launched its Slack AI. As an intelligent assistant, the bot is designed to make it easier for you to stay informed about the ever-growing list of work threads and channels that pursue your dreams.

Salesforce-owned Slack tested Slack AI with a handful of early adopters but is now opening the service to all of its customers, albeit as a paid add-on. However, Slack did not disclose the price of the offering.

Slack AI is divided into three main features: thread aggregation, channel aggregation, and a search option. To access threads and channel summary, go to the relevant thread or channel and click or tap the star icon in the top right corner of your Slack window.

Slack AI then goes through the content of your thread or channel and summarizes it into a bite-sized list of key topics and action points. The idea is to avoid the hassle of scrolling through long conversations that you may have missed while you were in a meeting, focused on other work, or out of the office.

Jackie Rocca, vice president of product at Slack, said the feature is also helpful in time-sensitive situations. She gave the example of workers trying to respond to a customer problem. However, the expert who would normally solve the problem is offline and by the time he goes online, a long conversation has already taken place with the customer and other employees about the problem.

Instead of scrolling through the back and forth between customer and colleague, the expert could use Slack AI to summarize the chat and immediately get the gist of what's going on.

The same general concept applies to channel summaries. You can summarize recent conversations from the last seven days or within a specific time period.
