A cannabis micro-cap broke the IPO market’s month-long dry spell last week to become the latest small issuer to soar on its debut, up 163% on the first day.

A SPAC also priced in the slowest week for blank check IPOs since August. The pipeline saw some activity, with two IPOs and four SPACs filing initial filings.

Akanda (AKAN) raised $16 million on a market cap of $116 million. The Company plans to supply wholesalers in international markets with medical grade cannabis products with cultivation facilities in Southern Africa. The operation is still in its early stages and has so far generated minimal revenue. Akanda was down after its first day and ended up up 85%.

SPAC Goldenstone acquisition (GDSTU) has raised $50 million to acquire growth-oriented companies with enterprise values ranging from $150 million to $500 million.
