UK explores ‘synthetic data’ for financial markets

By Irene Madongo (31 Mar 2022 4:58pm BST) – The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a call for industry feedback on the use of “synthetic data” by financial markets, highlighting the potential for regulation of simulated information generated by Algorithms were processed and shared on the marketplace without risking privacy.

The regulator on Wednesday asked financial and regulatory technology companies, regulators and academics for comments by June 22 on how details about transactions, payments or market trading can be leveraged while protecting sensitive business information and complying with privacy laws.
