The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra opens its Summer IPO Series on June 14 at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The program includes four concerts:
- June 14 – “Four: Strings, People and Countries” with an IPO string quartet featuring violinists Linda Veleckis and Kamen Vetchev; Matthew Barwegen on viola and Lisa Bressler on cello.
- June 28 – “Fire & Water” with an IPO wind ensemble featuring R. Matthew Lee and Greg Fudala on trumpet; Brian Goodwin, Horns; Tom Stark, trombone; Sean Whitake, tuba; and Simon Gomez Gallego on timpani/drums.
- July 12 – “Winds & Keys” featuring an IPO quartet with Cynthia Fudala on flute; Naomi Bensdorf Frisch on oboe; Claire Werling on clarinet; Matthew Hogan, bassoon and Marilyn Burgeois on piano.
- July 26 – “Jazz @ OFCC” featuring the Shout Section Big Band and vocalist Tatum Langley.
Tickets are $39 per concert, $105 for three concerts, or $140 for four concerts. Concert-goers can choose between a concert at 6:15 p.m. and a concert at 7:45 p.m. For ticket information, visit IPOmusic.com or call 708-481-7774.
