Stock market news today | Sensex, Nifty, Stock Quotes LIVE: Bulls dominated Dalal Street as stocks strengthened amid strong sentiment abroad. The benchmark frontline indexes NSE Nifty 50 rose over 300 points to over 17,200 and the S&P BSE Sensex climbed over 1000 points to 57,915. The positive sentiment was visible across broader markets as well, as the Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 were each up over 1 percent. India VIX, the volatility gauge, meanwhile, slipped over 6 percent. All sectors opened in the green area. The Nifty Metal and Nifty PSU Bank indices led the charge, rising 2 to 3 percent. All 30 constituents of the S&P BSE Sensex started trading in positive territory. IndusInd Bank, L&T, Bajaj Twins and Tata Steel contributed to strong gains in the benchmark.
