SpaceX set up a Starlink Twitter account to keep the public updated on the company’s progress. Starlink’s Twitter account touts the service’s growth and the potential possibility of an IPO.
Starlink’s Twitter bio reads: “Internet from space for people on earth. Developed by @SpaceX.”
As of this writing, Starlink has a gold tick and two posts. The first post promotes Starlink Maritime to boats of all sizes, while the second celebrates May 4th with the hashtag #MayThe4thBeWithYou.
Starlink’s Twitter page has garnered a lot of attention with just two posts, showing the ISP has received significant support over the years. Starlink has expanded to several countries around the world in the past year alone, including the Philippines and Haiti.
SpaceX also released multiple versions of Starlink to accommodate different demographics such as: star shield, which provides governments with an Internet connection. There’s also Starlink Aviation for airplanes and Starlink for RVs designed for long-distance travelers. Starlink’s standard kit is even available at select Home Depot save now.
Starlink has actually grown exponentially this year. The next step for Starlink is an initial public offering (IPO). Elon Musk first mentioned plans for one Starlink IPO in February 2020. At the time, Musk commented that an IPO for Starlink would take a few years. SpaceX hasn’t released an official date for a Starlink IPO, but said an IPO would be initiated “when its cash flow is more predictable.”
Starlink’s growing customer base and market brings it closer to more predictable cash flow. So a Starlink IPO may be just around the corner — or at least in a couple of years.
