Amer Sports, Inc., the Finnish parent company of Salomon, Arc'teryx, Wilson, Peak Performance and Atomic brands, has filed an initial public offering (IPO) with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Amer Sports did not disclose the price or scope of its offer. The company went private in 2019 thanks to a $5.2 billion takeover led by Chinese label Anta Sports. Amer's shareholders now include China's Tencent Holdings and private equity firm FountainVest, while Lululemon Athletica founder Dennis “Chip” Wilson sits on the board tied to the IPO.
In the first nine months of last year, the company achieved a 30% increase in sales, reaching total sales of $3.05 billion across three segments. In 2022, Amer Sports reported revenue of $2.35 billion during the same period. Meanwhile, the group's core earnings (or adjusted EBITDA) rose from $261.8 million to $422.1 million.
According to Amer Sports' IPO registration, Salomon reported over $1 billion in revenue in 2022, while Arc'teryx posted revenue of $952.6 million in the same period. The company did not disclose full-year data for Wilson, but said the tennis brand generated $866.3 million in revenue for the first nine months of 2023. According to the filing, Amer Sports aims to increase its full-year revenue to exceed $5 billion.
Amer Sports is seeking a listing on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “AS”.
