Los Angeles’ 12-game winning streak was only the third-longest winning streak in MLB this season. It’s only been a franchise record since moving to Los Angeles. It was the team’s longest winning streak since 1976. At their current pace, the 2022 Dodgers are close to breaking the franchise record for most wins at 114. It also means they have a legitimate shot at beating the all-time record for most wins in a single MLB season of 116 wins, set by the Seattle Mariners in 2001.

But while that was impressive, the Dodgers didn’t just win 12 straight. They won a dozen straight games over multiple runs and were 12-0 against the running line during that stretch, making it the fifth-longest such streak of all time and the longest since the 2002 “Moneyball” Oakland Athletics team. A $100 bet on the Dodgers on the running line from July 31 through Saturday’s games was worth $1,191.

Despite the loss, the Dodgers are still the hottest team in baseball. They are 19-4 since the All-Star break and 34-6 since June 29th. The Dodgers are five games ahead of the New York Mets in the race for the best record in both the National League and the entire MLB. They are also the clear favorite to win the 2022 World Series.
