Rising US debt is becoming a catalyst for the rise of crypto markets

Ever since the Bitcoin ETFs came into the market, the crypto markets have witnessed great trading sessions. However, another important factor that can lead to a huge price increase is the rising US debt. Total U.S. debt is currently $34.5 trillion. The large number has raised concerns about the devaluation and authenticity of state assets.

Rising US debt supports crypto rally

US debt is currently at an all-time high. This has resulted in investors becoming more cautious about traditional financial markets, as well as uncertainty over the Fed's decision to cut interest rates and the devaluation of currencies. Bitcoin markets have so far proven resilient in the face of increasing volatility and financial stress. In addition, data indicating possible short-term market volatility suggests that sovereign assets may weaken and decline. In such a situation, cryptocurrency markets are likely to surge as investors shift their capital to the virtual currency space.

US debt raises concerns about devaluation

Investors previously poured the most money into technology stocks and increased their investments in cryptocurrencies since August, according to a Bank of America Global Research survey reported by Reuters. As investors focused on exchange-traded funds, the amount of money flowing into cryptocurrencies rose to $2.4 billion last week from $1.2 billion the week before, pushing Bitcoin closer to an all-time high brought in about $73,000. As rising US debt raises concerns about currency devaluation, people are more likely to try to find a decentralized option. In such a scenario, Bitcoin has proven to be a worthy option.

What will happen to the crypto markets?

Given the decline in interest in sovereign assets, the future of cryptocurrency markets looks bright. Many cryptocurrencies currently seem to have a promising future, especially Bitcoin. Several institutions have bet that the original cryptocurrency will eventually see a price increase. This includes Bitwise's prediction that the price of Bitcoin will exceed $80,000 in 2024. At least in the first half of 2024, according to Coinbase, institutional investment in Bitcoin will be the focus.
