Posted 10:31 – Corn is up 1 1/2 cents a bushel, May soybeans are up 3/4 cents, July KC wheat is down 10 cents, May Chicago wheat is down 9 1/4 cents and July Minneapolis Wheat is 11 1/2 cents down. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 102.45 points and crude oil is down $1.35 a barrel in June. The US Dollar Index is up 0.160 and Gold is down $13.70 an ounce in June. All but soybean oil futures are still down, with nearby soybean futures pulling back on flat. It seems that the grain sale may be linked to a resumption of grain inspections in the Black Sea. KC Wheat appeared to have a fake breakout on Monday and moved lower again to test the range of the breakout. Spot calendar spreads for both corn and soybeans are reversing more, suggesting solid demand and tight supply.

Posted 09:48 – Corn is up 1/4 cent a bushel, May soybeans are flat, July KC wheat is down 9 1/2 cents, May Chicago wheat is down 12 cents and July Minneapolis wheat is up 10 1/ 4 fallen cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 74.51 points and crude oil is down $1.50 a barrel in June. The US Dollar Index is up 0.050 and Gold is down $13.80 an ounce in June. For the week ended April 14, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that US ethanol production rose 65,000 barrels per day, or 7%, to 1.024 million barrels per day as margins increased. This compares to just 947,000 a year ago. Ethanol inventories rose slightly to 25.3 million barrels from 25.1 million barrels the previous week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 32.99 points and crude oil is down $1.28 a barrel in June. The US dollar index is up 0.110 and gold is down $22.40 an ounce in June. The grain and soy charts are in the red as wheat and bean oil start the day under severe pressure. Crude oil is now down $4 a barrel from its high and traders are expecting another rate hike on May 3rd.

Posted at 11:29 am — June live cattle down $1.18 to $164.025, May feed cattle down $0.98 to $210.525, June lean hogs down $1.58 to $87.325 up, corn is up 1 cent a bushel and soybean meal is down $4.00 in July. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 97.63 points. Both the livestock and forage cattle contracts are mostly trading lower during the Wednesday lunchtime as traders wait impatiently to see what the cash cattle market achieves this week. No bids are being placed at this time and trading is likely to be delayed until Thursday.

Posted 08:33 — Live cattle in June are up $0.13 to $165.325, feed cattle in May are down $0.03 to $211.475, lean hogs in June are down $0.05 to $85.7 down, corn is down 2 1/2 cents a bushel in May and soybean meal is down $1.30 in July. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 30.68 points. The cash cattle market is still quiet but we could see bids starting to move throughout the day. Early bid prices in the south are over $177 but remain elusive in the north. Most of this week’s trading is likely to be delayed until Thursday.
