Posted 10:39 – May Corn is down 1 3/4 cents a bushel, May Soybeans are down 1/2 cent, May KC Wheat is down 22 1/4 cents, May Chicago Wheat is down 13 1/4 cents down and May Minneapolis wheat is down 13 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 172.02 points and May crude is down $0.57 a barrel. The US Dollar Index is down 0.570 and Gold is up $30.80 an ounce in June. KC wheat is melting I assume due to forecast of possible rains in Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska. Soybeans and soymeal have given up early gains and are headed south, as is corn, despite more sales to China.
Posted 08:33 – May Corn is up 5 1/4 cents a bushel, May Soybeans are up 17 cents, May KC Wheat is down 6 1/2 cents, May Chicago Wheat is down 3 1/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 37.96 points and May crude is down $0.24 a barrel. The US Dollar Index is down 0.530 and gold is up $30.10 an ounce in June. The USDA announced new corn sales to China split between two crop years: Sold 327,000 tons (12.9 million tons) of corn, of which 191,000 tons (7.5 million tons) for crop year 2022-23 and the remainder of 136,000 tons ( 5.4 million tons) for corn in the 2023/24 crop year. The Rosario Exchange’s revised production estimate for corn and soybeans gave these markets an early boost. Soybeans and soy flour rise early.
OMAHA (DTN) – June live cattle are up $0.70 to $165.55, feed cattle are up $0.60 to $209.175 in May, lean hogs are up $1.23 to $86.325 in June, corn is up 2 cents a bushel and May soybean meal around $3.80. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 209.52 points. The strength of the cash cattle market continues to drive both live cattle and forage cattle futures higher. Light trading resumed in Nebraska on Thursday afternoon, with clad trades trading at $290, $11 higher than last week’s weighted averages but completely stable with yesterday’s light transactions; Live sales are $182-$185, up $7-$10 from last week’s weighted average. Colorado saw $182 paid.
Posted 08:36 — June live cattle up $1.23 to $166.075, May feed cattle up $1.10 to $209.675, June lean hogs down $0.48 to $87.075, Corn is up 5 1/2 cents a bushel and May Soybean Meal is up $8.80. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 46.19 points. Some light trades were reported late Wednesday, with live deals from the South trading at $175, $5 higher than last week’s weighted average and will help break fresh weekly weighted average highs in the area. Portions of Nebraska late on Wednesday afternoon part trade extended as high as $290, up $11 from last week’s weighted average based on Nebraska. Further sales must take place on Thursday and/or Friday.
