OMAHA (DTN) — March corn is up 5 1/2 cents a bushel, March soybeans are up 9 1/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 15 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 12 1/2 cents up and Minneapolis wheat in March is up 9 1/2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 5.61 points and crude oil is up $0.82 a barrel in March. The US dollar index is up 0.120 and gold is down $1.70 an ounce in April. Grain and soybean markets, excluding soybean meal, rebound early Friday. There is very little news to report at the start of the day, but KC wheat, which has been the bullish star of late, has reclaimed two-thirds of Thursday’s plunge despite the improved weather outlook for the drought-stricken Southern Plains.

Posted at 08:35 – Live cattle up $0.33 in April to $163.95, feed cattle up $0.20 in March to $187.025, lean hogs up $0.33 in April to $83, corn down 5 3/4 cents a bushel in March and soybean meal down $1.10 in March. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 9.06 points. After noting the stronger cash cattle trade Thursday afternoon, the livestock complex is trading higher at the start of Friday. The market needs to see more livestock trading in the north and south as packers and feedlots are still in a tough spot in that region.
