Posted 10:38 – Corn in March is up 2 1/4 cents a bushel, January soybeans are up 5 1/2 cents, KC wheat is up 5 1/2 cents in March, Chicago wheat in March is down 3 3/4 cents Minneapolis wheat in March is down 2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 6.88 points and crude oil is up $1.06 a barrel in February. The US Dollar Index is up 0.090 and Gold is up $16.10 an ounce in February. Soybeans have rebounded from early weakness despite the fact that both products are lower, along with the more bullish soy data from WASDE in January, perhaps the biggest concern is the Argentine soy crop which is now down just 4% good-to-excellent. The USDA’s small reduction to 45.5 mmt is still too high compared to private projections.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 195.01 points and crude oil is up $0.60 a barrel in February. The US Dollar Index is up 0.240 and Gold is up $7.10 an ounce in February. Grain and soybean markets are little changed, starting early Friday after surging on surprise bullish data released in Thursday’s January Grain Inventories and Production report. KC wheat shows some independent strength.
Posted at 11:38 am — Live cattle in February are down $0.30 to $157.25, feed cattle in March are down $1.78 to $182.5, lean hogs in February are down 0.10 $up to $78.85, corn is up 2 1/2 cents a bushel in March and soybean meal is down $1.90 in March. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 28.99 points. Prices in the South were quoted at $156, down $1.00 from last week’s weighted average, and prices for clothing in the North were quoted at $250, down $2.00 from last week’s weighted average . The market could see more trading develop Friday afternoon but prices are likely to remain steady with what was developing earlier today.
Posted at 8:35am – Live Cattle in February are down $0.25 to $157.3, Feed Cattle in March are down $0.73 to $183.55, Lean Hogs in February are down $0.40 down to $78.35, corn is up 1/4 cent a bushel in March and soybean meal is up $0.10 in March. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 204.39 points. While corn contracts are again seeing a slight rally going into Friday’s start, cattle contracts are hesitant and mostly trading lower. The cash cattle market should develop more trading on Friday as the week’s movement was extremely light.
