Posted at 10:52 am – December Corn is up 6 cents a bushel, November Soybeans are up 34 1/2 cents, September KC Wheat is up 2 1/2 cents, September Chicago Wheat is up Up 2 3/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 10 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 123.27 points and crude oil is down $0.09 a barrel in August. The US Dollar Index is down 0.160 and Gold is down $4.00 an ounce in August. All grain and soy markets are higher now, led by August soybeans and bean oil. August bean oil has surged to a new high, its highest since November 2022.
Posted at 8:37 am – December Corn is up 8 3/4 cents a bushel, November Soybeans are up 24 1/4 cents, September KC Wheat is up 10 cents, September Chicago Wheat is up up 9 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 12 cents 1/4 cent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 111.87 points and crude oil is down $0.35 a barrel in August. The US dollar index is up 0.080 and gold is down $6.00 an ounce in August. Corn and soybean markets were up significantly earlier in the week, with bean oil futures continuing the uptrend that began in late May. We are expected to see a bullish soybean report in the USDA’s July report on Wednesday. The weather forecast continues to call for patchy rains with the northern plains and upper Midwest likely to be underperformed, but we should see a slight increase in corn and soybean valuations later on Monday.
Posted at 7:05pm Sunday July 9 – Row crops are slightly higher after Sunday evening open. December corn is up 1 1/4 cents and November soybeans are up 3 cents. Rain fell in western Iowa, central Illinois and Oklahoma over the weekend, select coverage giving Iowa and from Missouri to Ohio more opportunity in the coming week while other areas are mostly dry and corn pollination is picking up across the Midwest . Temperatures are hot most of the week over the southern corn belt. September KC wheat is down 2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is down 2 cents while the Northwestern Plains forecast remains largely dry for the next seven days. August Crude Oil prices are down $0.30 and Dow Jones futures are up 39 points. US Dollar Index is up 0.01 and August Gold is down $1.90.
Posted at 11:41 am – In August live cattle are down $0.08 to $176.925, in August forage cattle are down $0.13 to $245.3, in August lean hogs are down $0.03 to $95.125 down, in December corn is up 5 3/4 cents a bushel and in December soybean meal is up $4.40. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 129.95 points. Cash trades negotiated last week totaled 75,381 animals. Of these, 71% (53,371 pieces) were earmarked for nearby delivery, while the remaining 29% (22,010 pieces) were earmarked for delayed delivery. New show listings appear to be mixed, larger in Texas and Nebraska/Colorado but lower in Kansas.
Posted 8:36am – August live cattle down $0.43 to $176.575, August feed cattle down $0.88 to $244.55, August lean hogs down $0.90 to 96.05 $up, in December corn is up 7 3/4 cents a bushel and in December soybean meal is up $6.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 90.85 points. As corn prices edge up slightly earlier in the day, both livestock and feedstock contracts are trading lower. It will be important to see in the morning report how the negotiated cash cattle trade has fared over the past week as seeing how many cattle have been set aside for deferred delivery will give an indication of how the cash market is doing could develop this week.
