OMAHA (DTN) — December corn is down 7 1/4 cents a bushel, November soybeans are down 12 1/4 cents, September KC wheat is down 8 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 3 cents up and Minneapolis wheat for September is up 1 cent /2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 39.46 points and crude oil is up $1.20 a barrel in August. The US dollar index is down 0.800 and gold is up $21.90 an ounce in August. With the exception of Chicago, the wheat, grain and soybean markets remain under pressure as the rains now spread to western Iowa and southern Minnesota. In the six to 10 day portion of the forecast, rains are expected to move to dry northern areas. Some areas to watch are both the Canadian prairies and the EU where warmth and dryness are expected to continue. US corn is becoming more competitive with the South American base on the rise.

Grains and soybeans are lower, led by KC wheat, with only bean oil higher to start. The rain will move across South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma, then move east.

Posted 08:37 — In August live cattle is stable, in August forage cattle increased by $1.13 to $243.4, in August lean hogs decreased by $1.53 to $95.6, in December corn is down 4 1/4 cents a bushel and soybean meal is down $6.60 in December. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 72.07 points. Beef net sales in 2023 came in at 17,000 tons, up 41% from the previous week and 33% from the previous four-week average. The three largest buyers were Japan (5,100 mt), South Korea (3,700 mt) and Taiwan (2,200 mt). Net sales of 26,000 tons of pork in 2023 were 3% below the previous week and compared to the previous four-week average. The three largest buyers were Mexico (15,100 mt), Canada (4,600 mt) and Japan (1,700 mt).
