OMAHA (DTN) – After Tuesday’s open at 8:30 a.m. CDT, active contracts for corn, soybeans and wheat are all trading lower with rain forecast for Nebraska through Ohio beginning Thursday and continuing through the weekend. December corn is down 21 1/2 cents and November soybeans are down 36 3/4 cents. September KC wheat is down 11 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is down 8 3/4 cents. Outdoor markets are quiet early Tuesday. August Crude Oil prices are down $0.34 and Dow Jones futures are up 17 points. The US dollar index is down 0.35 and gold is up $5.60 in August.
Posted 08:34 – In August live cattle are up $0.25 to $170.85, in August forage cattle are up $2.40 to $236.075, in August lean hogs are up $0.25 to $89.8 down, in December corn is down 20 3/4 cents a bushel and in December soybean meal is down $10.70. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 45.86 points. As grain prices fell sharply early Tuesday, livestock contracts are bouncing back. Meanwhile, the lean pork market takes a more cautious stance on Tuesday morning as traders remain internally excited about what Thursday’s quarterly hog and hog report may reveal.
