Posted at 10:33 a.m. – December corn is down 4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 15 1/2 cents, December KC wheat is up 7 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 8 1/2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 5 cents. DJIA December futures are down 188 points. The US Dollar Index is down 0.1750 in September at 105.220, gold in December is up $16.10 an ounce at $1,948.90 and crude oil in October is up $0.52 a barrel at 90.68 $ increased. Corn and the soy complex are under selling pressure, with December corn once again approaching the lower end of this three-week range at $4.73 1/2. Wheat markets rallied, led by Chicago and KC, as funds cover short positions and global wheat supplies tighten.

The US Dollar Index is down 0.1250 in September to 105.270, gold in December is up $14.70 an ounce at $1,947.50 and crude oil in October is up $0.51 a barrel at 89.65 $ decreased. The soy complex is losing value while grain markets are mixed and little changed early Friday on a quiet news day.
Posted at 11:26 a.m. — October live cattle are up $1.38 to $186.85, October feeder cattle are up $2.00 to $263,875, October lean hogs are steady, December corn is up Down 2 3/4 cents per bushel and December soybean meal was down $4.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 179.05 points. Some cash trading is finally developing in the cattle complex, with prices in the south at $183, $3.00 higher than last week’s weighted average, and northern processed cattle trading at $292, stable and $2.00 higher than last week’s weighted average. More trading is expected to develop on Friday afternoon as volume for the week is still light.
Posted 08:33 — October live cattle are down $0.08 to $185.4, October feeder cattle are up $0.30 to $262,175, October lean hogs are up $0.30 to 83.65 $ increased, December corn was down 3/4 cent per bushel and December soybean meal was down $2.30. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 42.44 points. Given that very few cattle have been traded in the spot market, the focus on Friday at the livestock complex is to see what happens in the spot cattle market. Asking prices in the south are over $183 and are not yet set in the north. The Packers’ interest should increase as the day progresses.
