OMAHA (DTN) – After opening Friday at 8:30 a.m. CDT, crop prices have calmed since news broke Thursday evening that Israel carried out a limited missile strike in central Iran. Corn is up 4 cents in July and soybeans are up 5 cents in July. USDA reported 8.5 MB of corn sold to Mexico and 4.5 MB of soybeans sold to undisclosed destinations, the bulk of the two sales for 2024-25. In July, KC wheat was up 2 1/2 cents, and in July, Minneapolis wheat was up 5 1/2 cents. After briefly trading above $85 a barrel on Thursday evening, crude oil prices are now close to $82 in June and Dow Jones futures are up 55 points. The US dollar index fell by 0.23 and gold prices for June rose by 10 cents.
Posted 08:33 — June live cattle are down $0.45 to $174,925, May feeder cattle are down $0.88 to $241,675, June lean hogs are steady, May corn is down 3 1/2 Cents per bushel increased and July soybean meal was up $3.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 56.68 points. It will be a busy day for the cattle complex as cash cattle trading has not yet developed and the monthly Cattle on Feed report will be released later this afternoon. No bids are being made at this time, but interest from Packers is expected to increase fairly quickly.
