OMAHA (DTN) – The price of corn fell 1 cent per bushel in May and soybeans fell 7 3/4 cents per bushel in May. May KC wheat fell 9 1/2 cents per bushel, May Chicago wheat fell 9 1/2 cents per bushel and May Minneapolis wheat fell 7 1/2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 92.64 points to 39,406.28. The US dollar index fell by 0.030 to 104.21 and May crude oil fell by 0.20 dollars a barrel to 81.75 dollars. Grain and soy markets continue to trade lower in quiet trading, with corn and soymeal trading only slightly down and KC wheat bearing the brunt of sales. Look for markets to remain volatile ahead of March stocks and seeding reports on Thursday.

The US dollar index fell 0.110 to 104.13 and May crude oil rose 0.10 dollars a barrel to 82.05 dollars. Grain and soy markets continue to trade lower, with May soybeans and KC wheat leading the decline. The trade news is quiet, but a storm system moving across the Plains, Midwest and northern Plains is providing much-needed moisture ahead of planting.
Posted 08:34 – June live cattle increased $0.03 to $181,625, May feeder cattle decreased $0.53 to $252.1, June lean hogs increased $0.50 to $102,175, in May corn was down 3/4 cent per bushel and in May soybean meal was down $2.70 . The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 43.74 points. Heading into Tuesday, livestock contracts are trading lower again as the market worries about bird flu spreading among dairy cows in Texas and Kansas. Meanwhile, the lean hog complex continues to trade higher as the market eagerly awaits Thursday's quarterly hog and hog report.
