Posted at 10:33 a.m. – December corn is down 2 1/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 10 cents, December KC wheat is down 1/2 cent, December Chicago wheat is up Down 5 3/4 cents per bushel and December Minneapolis wheat was down 1/2 cent up 1/4 cent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 9.74 points and crude oil fell $0.61 a barrel in November. The US Dollar Index is down 0.100 and gold is up $2.80 an ounce in December. The US dollar index has changed direction and is now trending into negative territory, benefiting crop exports. Although Monday’s upbeat NOPA data suggests soybean oil inventories are tight in September, soybean oil is trading defensively along with crude oil while soymeal futures do the heavy lifting on Tuesday, tightening for the second time in three sessions in November hold below $400/ton Soybeans have stalled at a high of $12.99/bu.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 90.65 points and crude oil is up $0.08 a barrel in November. The US Dollar Index is up 0.140 and soybeans and soymeal are higher, while other markets show mixed to bearish trends in quiet early trading. Retail sales came in higher than expected, leading to a decline in the stock market. Harvest weather looks good for the coming week. There is very little additional news to drive markets on Tuesday.

Posted at 11:46 a.m. — December live cattle are up $0.75 to $187.3, November feeder cattle are up $0.83 to $250.75, December lean hogs are up $0.58 $67,725 down, December corn is stable and December soybean meal is stable. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 131.39 points. Cash bids and asking prices for cattle are still nowhere to be found. Significant trading volume will likely be delayed for at least another day or two. The lunch cuts of beef are $305.14, up $0.47, and $277.94, up $0.74, with a selection spread of $27.20 -dollars and a total load number of 93. The projected slaughter of lean hogs is 485,000 head, slightly less than a week and a year ago. The pork lunch price is $89.29, down $1.93.

Posted 08:34 – December live cattle are up $0.63 to $187,175, November feeder cattle are up $0.48 to $250.4, December lean hogs are up $1.38 to $69,675, corn is down 1/4 cent per bushel in December and soybean meal is up $4.80 in December . The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 80.09 points. The cash cattle market remains quiet on Tuesday morning, with bids and asking prices not yet set. Trading will most likely only develop in the second half of the week.
