Posted at 10:35 a.m. – May corn is up 4 cents per bushel, May soybeans are down 2 1/4 cents per bushel. May KC wheat fell 7 1/2 cents per bushel, May Chicago wheat fell 3 cents per bushel and May Minneapolis wheat fell 3 3/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 99.87 points to 38,805.79, the U.S. dollar index rose 0.060 to 103.42 and April crude oil fell $0.10 a barrel to $81.16. Mid-morning, wheat markets fell again, while soybeans recovered somewhat and bean oil is now trading higher. The corn was a little firmer for most of the day and there was little new news.

May KC wheat is up 1 cent per bushel, May Chicago wheat is up 3 1/4 cents per bushel and May Minneapolis wheat is up 3 1/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 49.42 points to 38,856.24. The US dollar index rose by 0.070 to 103.43 and April crude oil fell by $0.54 a barrel to $80.72. The USDA reported new sales of 125,000 tons, or 4.9 million bushels, of corn to undisclosed destinations for 2023-24. Corn is little changed, wheat is firmer and soybeans and produce are lower early Friday.
Posted at 11:40 a.m. – April live cattle are up $0.30 to $187.25, April feeder cattle are up $0.88 to $252.05, April lean hogs are up $2.10 to $87,125, Corn rose 3 cents per bushel and soybean meal fell $4.10 in May. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 192.49 points. Southern live cattle are currently trading at $186, up $1.00 from last week's weighted average, and northern dressed cattle are trading at $298, up $4.00 -dollar is more than last week's weighted average. More livestock trading is likely to occur by Friday afternoon, but prices for this week's spot market appear to be set.
Posted 08:37 — April live cattle increased $0.33 to $187,275, April feeder cattle increased $1.05 to $252,225, April lean hogs increased $0.10 to $85,125, in May corn was up 1 1/2 cents per bushel and May soybean meal was down $1.70. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 25.69 points. A handful of cattle were traded in the north yesterday, with prices ranging from $294 to $301, but there were still not many sales in the south. There is more cattle to be traded today and the price range in the north is likely to narrow as the market will try to set a fixed price for the cattle traded this week.
