“He threw away a couple of races as a foal, so let’s hope he can now show his true potential,” Cummings said. “His work was very good and we just want to carry that over to race day.”
Owners in love play numbers game
Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker could become the most popular man on the Gold Coast if Infatuation can win Saturday’s Magic Millions Classic for the MyRacehorse syndicate.
Infatuation, which is the top seed in terms of prize money with nearly $300,000 in the bank going into the $2M Classic, has a tremendous holding of microstocks.

“We had an event the other night and they came from all over Australia. When you see them all in a room, you get an idea of how big it is,” Baker said. “There are thousands of them and they are so excited and they should be.
“If she can win on Saturday I don’t think there would have been a major ownership group to win a million dollar race so I should be in for a drink.”
Infatuation was Friday’s tote favorite and was very well supported in the futures markets as their owners backed their dream.
“With MyRacehorse, miRunners and the Racing League, they’re always well supported if they get a good one,” said Glenn Munsie of TAB. “Their owners are excited and want to take the prize, so they’re always a loser for us on race day.
“Infatuation is exactly that in the Magic Millions. Although she folded from $9.50 to $14 when betting [in Fixed Odds betting] since the draw they are still supporting them.”
Infatuation has the most experience en route to the Magic Millions with four starts and a win last time out at Randwick. She’s been improving with every run and wasn’t caught until late by Barber in the Golden Gift when she found the front too early and had a sitting chance.
She had traffic problems at unplaced tries at the Kirkham Plate on her debut and the Wyong Magic Millions on both sides of the Golden Gift, and when she finally found a free run, she won at Randwick.
“We have seen an improvement on this journey and we are very fortunate to have Rachel King riding her who knows the filly as well as I do.

“There’s no doubt we’ll take advantage of the good draw and move forward, but I’ll leave Rachel where she wants to be on the run.
“We know we have a tough filly that will put her heart to the test, and Rachel will do it right.”
There has been a shift in betting towards two-year-olds who will speed at the Magic Millions after the Gold Coast favored the frontrunners last week.
Munsie said the biggest betting move has been for undefeated Queenslander Skirt The Law, who is $14 to $6 since she hit barrier three on Tuesday.
“Skirt The Law looks like the leader from her draw and that’s why the money keeps coming for her,” Munsie said. “The favourite [Empire Of Japan] is still at 25 percent of our control this week but he is a horse who has not had speed in his two starts and will need some luck.
“Empire Of Japan still has a $4.80 chance but I think he could get further out if the leaders start winning tomorrow.”
