Bitcoin price has hovered around $52,000 for the week and has managed to maintain most of its gains since mid-February. The report also showed that this resilience was supported by a significant increase in realized capital, which increased by over $30 billion year-to-date to $460 billion. With an average unrealized profit of +120% per coin, investors were in a good position compared to the early stages of previous bull markets.

Looking at on-chain metrics, a shift towards speculation can be observed, especially among short-term holders (STH). These investors have deposited over $2 billion into exchanges daily since mid-January, driving exchange volumes higher. Additionally, the inflow of over 90,000 Bitcoins into spot ETFs highlights the growing institutional appetite for the digital asset.

Derivatives markets reflect this speculative sentiment, with open interest in the futures and options markets approaching all-time highs. Additionally, the yield available in the futures markets has increased to 14.7%, attracting traders who like to take advantage of long positions. Additionally, the increasing spread between BTC and ETH funding rates suggests a growing user preference for riskier assets.

As for speculation, Bitcoin trading veteran Peter Brandt recently revised his forecast for the current bull market cycle. He believes the price of Bitcoin will reach $200,000, above his previous prediction of $120,000. This prediction is based on a technical analysis chart that shows Bitcoin breaking a key channel.
