As the Eastern and Western Conferences crown their winners, the NBA Finals are just around the corner, possibly just days away depending on what turns out. But according to a prominent Las Vegas bookmaker, the NBA Finals odds will favor Golden State regardless of his opponent.
Of course, the Warriors still have to finish off the Mavericks. But with a 3-1 lead and home field advantage, we can be pretty confident that they will face either the Celtics or the Heat. When that happens, Westgate SuperBook’s Jeff Sherman says, expect the Warriors to be a minus sign next to them on the NBA championship odds board.

How tall will the Warriors favorite be?
Sherman tweeted On Monday, Westgate posted the following prices for NBA Finals odds:
- Warrior -130/Celtic +110
- Warrior -200/Heat +175
The Celtics gave the Heat a massive 102-82 blow hours later in Game 4. Would that affect these markets? Unlikely, but possible.
The Celtics have been the most dominant team in the playoffs so far, judging by Cleaning The Glass efficiency differentials that filter out garbage times. They lead the Warriors in that telling stat, +7.6 to +5.6, a larger margin than the second-place Warriors over the fifth-place Bucks. Some high-profile outlets have been claiming for months that the Celtics have the best team in the NBA.
One thing to keep in mind, however, is that the Warriors have a significant health advantage – and likely a recovery advantage – against both Eastern finalists. Almost all of their rotation players are healthy. Only the interchangeable parts Gary Payton II and Otto Porter are on the shelf.
In contrast, key Celtics Robert Williams III, Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart are struggling with injuries. Williams III chipped Game 4 against Miami in 19 minutes but missed Game 3. The Heat is in even worse shape. They have five rotation players listed as questionable for Game 5 while Jimmy Butler is also working at less than 100% aside from the injury report.
NBA Finals Accurate Results Markets
While Westgate took the initiative to offer NBA Finals odds, online sportsbooks have taken a different approach. Instead of making markets for every possible matchup, with the action only occurring if that matchup occurs, they have released futures markets where bettors can bet on the exact final outcome.
In this case all markets are active. The bet is essentially a multiple way bet by each team to win their respective conference and then beat a specific opposing team in the finals.
Obviously, bettors can score some pretty wild prizes at the Mavericks. Remember, no team in the NBA has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit.
Look closely at the odds for each “NBA Finals” as Caesars Sportsbook lists them.
