You know, building a successful romance is in many ways similar to continually building successful parlays on FanDuel.
It requires patience and dedication. Bankroll management is essential. You also need to gamble responsibly.
And just because I'm betting against Travis Kelce proposing to Taylor Swift at Super Bowl 58 doesn't mean I'm not a romantic at heart.
I believe in true love. I also understand the “passion that unites us all”.
I understood the reaction when I wrote in Tuesday's Morning Coffee column about the chances of the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the Stanley Cup this season.
Officially, FanDuel has Toronto at 14-1 to win it all. That's an increase from 10 to 1 earlier this season.
Apparently, at this point, FanDuel traders might want to think about increasing their chances of winning a bit.
At least that would be a suggestion based on the responses I received to Tuesday's column.
According to my readers, the Maple Leafs should be at least 20 to 1 or better on FanDuel to win the Stanley Cup.

Meanwhile, many responses suggested that Toronto shouldn't even be considered as a candidate in the conversation.
You know, because they have “no chance.”
Leave it to the media to turn a spark into wildfire when it comes to the Maple Leafs, am I right?
Regardless of sentiment, Toronto is still technically a top-10 pick to win it all on FanDuel.
In my opinion, they are exactly where they should be in the Stanley Cup futures market.
Whether their odds get smaller or larger from here depends on how the organization proceeds before the NHL trade deadline.
Regardless, the Leafs are well on their way to making the playoffs.

Connor McDavid has been a perennial favorite to win the Hart Trophy in each of the last three seasons.

He is currently ranked third in this market on FanDuel.
Nathan MacKinnon is the Hart Trophy favorite at -125. Nikita Kucherov is the second choice at +260.
McDavid has dropped from +390 to +340 after another remarkable performance in last night's 8-4 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

McDavid became the fourth-fastest player in NHL history to reach 600 assists with a career-best six assists in the win over Detroit.
Before last night's game, McDavid had never recorded more than four assists in a single game.
The fact that he managed to record four assists in one period alone is a testament to his ability to absolutely take over an NHL game.

With Kucherov scoring in last night's win over the Boston Bruins, McDavid is still 13 points behind the Tampa Bay Lightning's superstar winger for the NHL points lead.
However, he only managed a five-point lead in one night.
Suddenly it's a little more interesting that McDavid wins the Art Ross Trophy.

Kucherov has averaged an NHL-best 1.70 points per game. McDavid is right behind him with 1.64 points per game, followed by Nathan MacKinnon with 1.61 points per game.
Kucherov remains the -130 favorite to win the Art Ross Trophy.
McDavid, who trails by 13 points, is +230 to win this award.
MacKinnon is currently +260 to win the Art Ross Trophy.

Could McDavid catch up with NHL leader Kucherov?
The fact that the Oilers captain has a lower chance of winning the Art Ross Trophy than MacKinnon despite having 10 fewer points is a testament to McDavid's brilliance and the perception that he has the potential to dominate his competition at the highest level to put in the shadows.
McDavid is the best ice hockey player in the world. His performance against the Red Wings was further proof of how dominant he can be.

McDavid, MacKinnon and Kucherov are obviously the top three candidates to win the Hart Trophy on FanDuel.
This trio also represents the top three candidates to win the Art Ross Trophy.
Hockey fans are lucky to be able to watch them play at such a high level every night.
It will be fascinating to see what McDavid, MacKinnon and Kucherov do moving forward and which of them ultimately wins both the Hart Trophy and Art Ross Trophy this season.
