MAC soccer predictions for 2022 with odds at DraftKings

We’ve already highlighted our best bet on Central Michigan’s 2022 overall wins, which you can check out here, but we also think they can make it to the MAC Championship Game. The good news for the Chippewas is that their leading RB Lew Nichols III and beginning QB Daniel Richardson are both back to lead the offense. Head coach Jim McElwain will have his hands full with the defense as they have to replace leading tackler Greg Kreski, but their first test of the conference won’t be until October 1 in Toledo.

If Central Michigan can defeat the Rockets on that date, securing the East Division should be a breeze since their only other challenge on the schedule is a trip to northern Illinois on November 2nd.

Toledo was the only other team we considered for the MAC East Division win, but we think Central Michigan can beat them in October. Like the Chippewas, they have to contend with a trip to northern Illinois, but it comes a week after Central Michigan has been hosted, so it may be even more difficult for them to eke out a win. Additionally, they’re ending their season with a trip to Western Michigan who could be battling for a bowl game in Week 13, and it won’t be a surefire win for the Rockets.

As such, we will support Central Michigan to finish atop the MAC East Division and qualify for the title game in 2022 at a price of +290 at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Do Western and Eastern Michigan have a shot at the title?

West Michigan and East Michigan are lower on the list to win the MAC this season, but both teams should be battling for a chance to qualify for a bowl game in 2022. West Michigan has +500 and East Michigan +800 to win the MAC East Division, suggesting they will be very unlikely to fight for the title.
