J. Christopher Giancarlo appointed Chevalier in the National Order of Merit by the French government

Awarded for financial acumen and support for French culture

NEW YORK, May 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — J. Christopher Giancarloa Wall Street lawyer and business figure known in the financial world for his expertise in cryptocurrency has been awarded the rank of Chevalier in France’s Order of Merit by the President Emmanuel Macron.

The award will be presented to Giancarlo in June at the French Embassy in Paris Washington, D.C

Giancarlo was humbled by the Chevalier honor. “As the grandson of a French émigré, I am honored to receive the National Order of Merit. It recognizes the creation of well-regulated crypto trading markets and the strengthening of regulatory relationships abroad with the help of many fine officials during my reign. It also acknowledges the crucial role of bilingual primary education in promoting cross-border respect and understanding.”

The Order of Merit was created in 1963 by President Charles de Gaulle for “outstanding merits” in the service of the Order France and the causes it supports. It is rare for a non-citizen of France to receive the Order of Merit.
