China is to release inflation data for March, specifically producer price and consumer price indices. Economic data released last week pointed to heightened inflationary pressures.

Caixin’s Service Purchasing Managers’ Index for March fell to 42.0 from 50.2 in February, falling below the 50-point mark that distinguishes growth from contraction on a monthly basis. The rate of decline was the fastest since March 2020, the private data provider said, blaming the recent wave of Omicron outbreaks in Chinese cities, including Shanghai.
