Hanryu Holdings (NASDAQ: HRYU) has filed for a proposed IPO.
The company describes itself as follows: “We created FANTOO to provide distinctive service offerings, technologies, applications and websites through a multimedia global platform to allow our users to interact with other like-minded users and share their appreciation as fans of different types of entertainment and cultures, create your own content, enjoy other users’ content, engage in e-commerce and experience a community we believe is unlike any other.
Our current users are enthusiasts of South Korean culture (“K-culture”), also known as “Korean Wave” or “Hanryu”. Although we expect to expand into more entertainment genres, the current base of FANTOO is the Korean Wave. The growing popularity of the Korean Wave has historically been fueled by social networking services and online video-sharing platforms. Through these channels, the circulation and export of South Korean art, music, and entertainment has rapidly evolved from a regional influence to a global appreciation of K-culture. The expansion of the Korean Wave into a global phenomenon presents a significant opportunity to unite fans around the world within the FANTOO platform.”
Aegis Capital Corp will act as sole underwriter.
