GigNet Appoints New Chief Financial Officer to Lead Next Phase of Growth and Expansion in Mexico

Zeljko Kecman brings 30 years of accounting, finance and industry experience to the rapidly growing digital infrastructure provider in Mexico

CHICAGO, May 12, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–GigNet, Inc., a digital infrastructure company with an extensive regional fiber optic broadband network stretching from Costa Mujeres, north of Cancun, through the Tulum Hotel Zone, today announced the appointment by Zeljko Kecman as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Kecman has nearly 30 years of global industry experience across a variety of industries including telecom, financial services and utilities.

In his role, Mr. Kecman will lead the finance function of GigNet, Inc. and will be responsible for accounting, finance, financial planning and analysis, tax, information systems and financial reporting related to the company’s overall corporate finance strategy and execution. His role will include accounting and financial management for GigNet, Inc., the company’s operations in Mexico and the company’s proposed submarine cable between Florida and Cancun. Mr. Kecman has served as Advisory CFO to GigNet since November 2021.

Mr. Kecman began his career in the public accounting department of Arthur Andersen LLP and moved to the newly established financial risk advisory practice where he worked extensively in Latin America and clients on issues related to financial and treasury risk management, investment accounting, technical accounting implementation, regulatory compliance and selection and implementation of financial systems. Prior to his position as Advisory CFO at GigNet, Mr. Kecman was the CFO of a large single-family office based in Chicago. Before that he was Managing Director at Ernst & Young in the area of ​​Financial Services Advisory. Prior to that, he spent 10 years in industry, holding various positions of increasing responsibility at Exelon Corporation, Zurich North America, and Allstate Investments.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Kecman holds a Master of Science in Financial Markets, Trading and Regulation from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University.
