The Miroma Group has acquired a majority stake in Gary Neville’s content company Buzz16, which is now planning an IPO worth over £200m.

Buzz16 was launched in 2016 by the former footballer turned Sky Sports presenter.

The exact amount Miroma has paid for his stake has not been disclosed, but it is said that the “multi-million pound investment” “solidifies” Buzz16’s plans for a £200m IPO since it intends to expand into other digital brands.

Miroma is also taking over the majority of Neville’s popular YouTube channel, The Overlap, according to a Times report. The channel launched in 2021 and is powered by Buzz16, which has gained half a million subscribers and generated almost 85 million views in that time.

It also won YouTube Channel of the Year, with shows starring Neville alongside former Sky Sports pros and colleagues Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane.

Gary Neville, who co-founded Buzz16 with Sky Sports producer Scott Melvin, said: “This is great news for Buzz16 and it’s fantastic to be able to work with the Miroma Group.

“Using and utilizing their experience and knowledge can only help us continue to develop and grow. exciting times”.

Miroma currently owns a number of media and marketing companies with clients including Universal, Sony, eBay, Netflix, Paramount+, SEGA, Google and LVMH.

Its founder and CEO, Marc Boyan, said: Buzz16 “have done an incredible job since their inception and what I’ve seen at The Overlap is no exception. I look forward to helping the company grow as we look to launch more projects in this area.”
