FTSE 100 open seen slightly higher
0740 GMT – The FTSE 100 is likely to open slightly higher after a strong close on Wall Street on Friday. IG Futures data shows London index of blue-chip stocks opens 5 points higher. Financial markets appear to have “increasing conviction” that central banks are on the cusp of a significant turnaround in monetary policy later this year, writes CMC Markets analyst Michael Hewson. “As we look ahead to a new week, the focus will once again be on the US economy and this week’s fourth quarter gross domestic product numbers, as well as the December personal spending deflator inflation numbers, due Thursday and Friday .” ([email protected])
