The London FTSE 100 won 46.1 points, 0.62 percent, to close at 7,491.
The German DAX 30 index had the biggest day and gained 173.54 points or 1.10 percent and ended at 15,942.
The CAC 40 index in France rose 67.6 points, or 0.95 percent, to 7,183. The Italian FTSE MIB 30 rose 181.8 points, or 0.66 percent, to 27,535.
