EGX, Muscat Stock Exchange examine cooperation opportunities on the capital market

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has received a delegation from the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) to discuss improving mutual cooperation, particularly in terms of human skills development, which would have a positive impact on the efficiency of the financial markets in the two countries .

EGX Chairman Ramy El Dokkany emphasized the proposed aspects of cooperation with the Omani side, as well as prospects for joint cooperation in all areas, especially related to dual listing of companies on the two stock exchanges. He also highlighted the means and channels for the exchange of experience and information between them, as well as the technical mechanisms to facilitate this collaboration.

Mohammed Mahfoud Al-Ardhi, Chairman of the MSX, praised the strength of the relationship between the Sultanate and Egypt, describing it as “long and old”.

He noted that EGX plays an important role in serving the national economy.

Al-Ardhi explained that the visit is designed to engage in discussions on opportunities for collaboration between MSX and EGX, particularly global trends in the interconnection of exchanges and technical developments that have eliminated geographic boundaries in the world of finance and investing.

During the visit, the EGX work teams will make several presentations, including an overview of the systems and working models of the various technical sectors at EGX, and will introduce to the MSX representatives and executives all the new products and mechanisms that have been adopted and implemented by EGX management in worked on increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of the Egyptian financial market in recent years.

Exchange management organized a series of meetings for the visiting delegation, starting with a meeting with Muhammad Farid Saleh, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), to discuss the latest legislative and legal developments in the capital sector in both countries, as well as to review the framework that ensure that both sides benefit from the legal environment for the capital sector.

MSX delegation members are scheduled to meet Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said and Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait, in addition to bilateral meetings with the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt.
