Progressive filly climbing star will get her chance at Group 1 level this fall, with big goals on the horizon for the easy-going canter.
Trainer Philip Stokes stated next month Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington is the main target for his daughter by Zoustar.

The five-start veteran started with a strong effort as he worked his way through the line behind Jacquinot in the Manfred Stakes on Australia Day and will next feature in The Vanity (1400m) in Flemington on Saturday.
“She did what we expected from her debut in Manfred and will be running in the Vanity at Flemington on Saturday,” said Stokes.
“If she does well at it, which I’m sure she will, she’ll go to the (Australian) Guineas.
“It seems like a race that suits her, she seems to like Flemington and a mile so we’ll just try to get her to the climax and then see where we can go after that.”
TAB rates Climbing Star as a $26 opportunity in the Australian Guinea futures markets, where Aft Cabin and Jacquinot share the preference at $6.

With Group 1’s third-place finish in mind, Stokes has nominated Climbing Star to race in Sydney and also hinted she could travel to South Australia.
“She’s a three-year-old filly with only five starts so she has a lot of untapped ability and we could go a few ways with her after this race but for now we’re just concentrating on the Guineas,” Stokes said.
“We could go to Australasian Oaks with her if she gives the hint that such a trip will not be a problem.”
South Australia was a happy hunting ground for them Pakenham-based conditioner that won the Robert Sangster Stakes with 2021 Instant Celebrity and last year’s Adelaide Cup with Daqiansweet Junior.
