The NBA championship odds board is led by the Boston Celtics (+275) and includes several well-known teams from last year’s NBA playoffs. Behind the Celtics are the Phoenix Suns (+425), who made it to the semifinals of the Western Conference last year. Third on the odds board are the Milwaukee Bucks. Milwaukee faced the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals a season ago and lost in an exciting 7-game streak.
Phoenix is the favorite to emerge from the Western Conference due to its takeover Kevin Durant at the close of trading. West has several other competitors hot on Phoenix’s heels. The Denver Nuggets reach +750, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers (+1000), the Dallas Mavericks (+1600), the Memphis Grizzlies (+1700), and the Golden State Warriors (+1700). The Clippers are the only team on this list to miss the 2022 playoffs.
The Nuggets are looking to improve behind the leading MVP candidate Nikola Jokić who continues to improve despite already becoming a superstar. They were relatively quiet at the close, adding depth with the addition of Thomas Bryant who previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Denver also moved a backup guard Bone Hyland, who ended up with the Clippers. He and his new teammates could face Denver in the playoffs. The Clippers also added veterans Mason Plumlee And Eric Gordon to their already experienced rotation. The Dallas Mavericks hope to take down the hardware once it’s added Kyrie Irving go along Luke Doncic.
The Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies round out the top teams in the Western Conference at identical odds of +1700. Warriors status has since declined Stephen Curry dropped out with a knee injury.
Memphis, who lost to the Warriors in the 2022 Western Conference Finals, will look to catapult them. I Morante injured his knee in this series and missed the last two games.
The Eastern Conference has fewer teams at the top of the NBA championship odds board. The Milwaukee Bucks hit +550, followed by the Philadelphia 76ers at +1200. The upstart Cleveland Cavaliers round out the top ten at +3000.
