However, some market watchers and allotment participants are concerned about the listing premium as market sentiment has been negative in recent sessions.
According to market watchers, Campus Activewear’s share price has been under pressure due to negative sentiment in the secondary market in the gray market. They said Campus Activewear stock is available at a premium of €79 on the gray market today.
Campus Activewear IPO GMP today
According to market observers, Campus Activewear is now an IPO gray market premium (GMP). €79, that is €4 higher from its Dusk market premium yesterday €75. However, Campus Activewear is IPO GMP today €13 lower from its gray market premium on Wednesday night €92, the highest since Campus stock made its gray market debut. Observers added that Campus Activewear’s IPO gray market price fell due to weakness in secondary market sentiment, citing, “If the weakness in the secondary market continues, we could see its impact on the listing premium of the public issue, which is good because that.” Campus Activewear’s IPO date is fast approaching.”
What these GMP mean
Market observers added that Campus Activewear IPO is now GMP €79, it means that the gray market expects Campus Activewear IPO listing will be close €371, which is more than 25 percent of Campus Activewear’s IPO award ribbon €278 to €292 per share.
So, following Campus Activewear’s IPO allotment, the gray market is trying to signal that allotment holders can expect a strong premium from the public offering despite weak market sentiment.
However, stock market experts said that the gray market is not the right indicator of the success or failure of an IPO because it is unregulated and its data is completely unofficial. They said that the gray market premium had nothing to do with the company’s finances and thus relying on gray market data could mislead the market enthusiast. They asked the grant holders to look at the company’s financials as it would give a concrete picture of its fundamentals.
