A unit of BuzzFeed Inc. is suing dozens of current and former employees to end mass arbitrations challenging aspects of the blank check merger and IPO.
The company’s lawsuit alleges that the 91 workers and former workers tried to circumvent a court ruling that blocked their original offer to settle their claims. The group has claimed that BuzzFeed’s executives failed to instruct their base on how to properly convert their shares into another share class that they could sell at the IPO. BuzzFeed has blamed the exchange agent.
