BRASILIA (Reuters) – Brazil’s central bank governor Roberto Campos Neto said on Thursday Brazil had hiked interest rates earlier and faster than the rest of the world and that people understand that monetary tightening is “largely complete”.
Speaking at an event hosted by lender BTG Pactual, he said policymakers continue to monitor the country’s services inflation, understanding that recent government moves to cut taxes on key prices are creating less inflation inertia.
