Auburn could win the national title

Commercial content. 21+. Action Network is the official betting partner of the New York Post, which edits this content.

It's only a month into the college basketball regular season, so we have a sample size of about 10 games to analyze the landscape.

With that in mind, there are a few teams I'm interested in in the futures markets, including a potential national champion and an undervalued team in their conference.

NCAA Men's Tournament Winner: Auburn (60/1, Caesars)

Auburn is undervalued, at least by metrics.

The ` Poll and Caesars Sportsbook rate the Tigers at No. 25 nationally, but advanced stats sites KenPom, Bart Torvik, Evan Miya and ShotQuality all place them in the top 15.

Yes, the Tigers lost a game to App State, but that was Auburn's first true road game, and the Tigers were unlucky, shooting an impossible 3-for-27.

That won't happen again.

The Tigers also took Baylor to the brink, beating St. Bonaventure and dominating Indiana.

They need to prove themselves in a game against USC on December 17th before moving on to non-conference play, and I like Auburn's chances at home at this point.

From a personnel perspective, I like the team.

The frontcourt features Johni Broome and Jaylin Williams, and freshman guard Aden Holloway has been outstanding.

The Tigers have enough size up front and talent in the backfield to compete with anyone.

Bruce Pearl is a top-notch head coach who has led Auburn to two SEC regular season titles and a Final Four appearance over the past five seasons.

However, there have been problems on offense in recent years, with Pearl's squad falling to 46th nationally in offensive efficiency last year.

But Pearl returned 62 percent of his goals from last year's squad and the experienced players blended in seamlessly with the newcomers.

The result is more than 80 points per game, a top 20 efficiency ranking and a top 10 ShotQuality PPP ranking.

An Auburn team on offense with a dangerous young point guard could make a breakthrough in March.

The Tigers don't get enough respect in the market compared to their statistical profile, and I like the roster construction and coaching so much that I want to try this inflated 60/1 line at Caesars.

America East Regular Season Winner: Maine (25/1, FanDuel)

I was high on Maine before the year, but after seeing their early-season results at the top of the America East, I'm even higher on the Black Bears.

New head coach Chris Markwood completely transformed the program in his first season.

After returning four starters and five of its top six scorers this year, the Black Bears are 8-4, the program's best start since 2004.

Maine has the best defense in the American East behind star defender Kellen Tynes.

The Bears are the third-best team in the conference overall in KenPom's rating.

The price is way behind Bryant at FanDuel Sportsbook, which is completely wrong and makes them insanely undervalued.

Most importantly, Maine's frontcourt improved significantly and Peter Filipovity became an offensive weapon inside.

The favorite to win the America East, Vermont, has a relatively weaker frontcourt that was recently destroyed by Colgate-based Keegan Records.

Betting on college basketball?

Meanwhile, the conference's other favorite, UMass Lowell, suffered a life-threatening injury to center Abdoul Karim Coulibaly, perhaps the conference's most important player.

The severity of the injury is uncertain, so he could be back soon. It is something that needs to be monitored.

Whatever the case, Lowell still has serious injuries from rim shots and turnovers, and Maine will enjoy turnover-prone teams.

Maine is undervalued, well-coached and diverse, and the teams above it in the hierarchy are vulnerable.

Buy Maine stocks now before it's too late.
