NEW YORK (`) – Wall Street mostly closes lower on Tuesday, a day after plunging into a bear market on fears high inflation will push central banks to slow the economy too much. The S&P 500 slipped 0.4% after another day of choppy trading. Investors are excited to see how big the Federal Reserve’s rate hike will be on Wednesday. Gains from several big tech companies, including Oracle, helped the Nasdaq composite index rise 0.2%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.5%. Government bond yields rose again, reaching their highest level in more than a decade.
