This was announced in a statement by Amadou Sall, media contact for Afreximbank, in Abuja on Saturday.
Sall said Afreximbank’s success in the awards reflects the bank’s increasingly well-established leadership position in the continent’s credit and debt capital markets across key industry sectors.
He said the 8th Annual Bonds, Loans and ESG Capital Markets Africa Awards aim to recognize and showcase the most innovative and groundbreaking deals by issuers and borrowers from sovereigns, corporates and financial institutions.

Sall said the candidates were nominated by a wide range of parties, including other banks and their customers.
According to him, the awards reflect the culmination of a comprehensive selection process that tests Africa’s most pioneering deals and market players.

“The award was a recognition of Afreximbank’s leadership in providing debt solutions to sovereigns, SOEs, central banks and other sovereign financial institutions over the past year.” he said.
Sall said the awards provided an appropriate platform for Afreximbank to recognize and celebrate the excellence of its customers and partners.
He says, “Also to celebrate the outstanding contributions of a coalition of individuals and institutions working to advance the economic development of the African continent.”
He said the awards, launched in 2015, continued to play a significant role in promoting the importance and sophistication of Africa’s financial services sector and its pivotal role in accelerating economic development on the continent.
“These awards have made a significant contribution to the increasingly positive and prestigious status of African financial markets and their enormous untapped potential.
“The awards achieve this by highlighting the achievements of African financial institutions, companies and individuals.”
The statement quoted Executive Vice-President, Finance, Administration and Banking Services, Denys Denya, as saying: “We are delighted with these awards.
“We are also grateful that Afreximbank’s strategic work is recognized in the financial markets even beyond the African continent.”
Denya said the awards are an important endorsement of the bank’s interventions in financing, promoting and facilitating trade and its ever-expanding work to facilitate sustained economic growth and development in Africa.
