Once again, our elected leaders have been misled by the wrong choice between a healthy economy and a healthy planet. We will have neither if our government continues to sanction unlimited production and export of oil and gas.

WASHINGTON DC (June 2, 2023) – In response to the signing of the Fiscal Responsibility Act, Alice Madden, Policy and Political Director at Greenpeace USA said, “There will be no economy on a dead planet.” Spokesman McCarthy deemed our country as Hostage to sell out communities to the oil and gas executives. The cuts in environmental protection and public engagement contained in this bill are sheer handouts to polluters who are already polluting our air and water while pushing us towards climate catastrophe. Once again, our elected leaders have been misled by the wrong choice between a healthy economy and a healthy planet. We will have neither if our government continues to sanction unlimited production and export of oil and gas.”
